Can I damage my car cd player by playing "dirty" cds (played in other cd players)?

I was thinking in terms of VHS video cettes where tapes got soiled/dusty playing in other ppl's VCRs. Does the same hold true for music cds? I am not talking about cds that are overtly filthy-- with food stains on it, just cds that have been played many times on other ppl's cd players.
