How to deal with an energetic dog after surgery?

i have a 2 year old lab/pitt mix who has more energy than the energizer bunny. He just got neutered and the vet told me that he isn't allowed to have serious play, jump, walks, baths, or even play with the other dogs in the house for at least ten days or his wound can come open and he can get infection. I don't have any medication to give him it is only the day after the surgery and he is screaming and barking and won't be quiet and i take him out on a leash to use the bath room and he tries to jump around and play but i can't let him play and he wants to do anything but sit still... he has to be in a kennel all day and i don't know how i can handle this. All i know is that once this is over with i am going to spend a week only exercising him! Someone please help me to control his loudness before i go crazy...
